Superfly is seeking a Vice President of Strategy to enhance, grow and extend our strategic and creative capabilities. This role will build a team of strategists, comms planners and analysts, while creating a culture of curiosity and strategic discipline across our agency. You are an inspirational leader and digitally-centered brand strategist with a passion for developing successful experiential programs that help transform brands and drive results. You are innately curious, ask the tough questions, push our creative boundaries, and you work best when collaborating with your clients, your team and your peers.

Leading our strategy department requires you to have broad knowledge across our multiple disciplines including: experiential, sponsorship, music and entertainment, social and influencer. You bring experience in crafting marketing strategy, account planning, content strategy, social, data science, and research. You have a deep understanding and experience in the skills necessary to inspire and lead our clients and teams – trend analysis, idea development, channel knowledge, client leadership, and storytelling.

You love developing new business relationships as much as sharing new ideas and insights with your existing clients. You’re ready to report to the President & GM of the Agency and shape what’s next at Superfly.

What you will do

  • Advance our strategic capabilities. Identify trends, target insights, client needs and craft narratives in order to push the agency forward 
  • Spot opportunities for greater effectiveness-driven work across new and existing clients, and developing the agency’s strategic offering, particularly around an on/offline approach to experience planning.
  • Inspire effectiveness in every aspect of the output, working closely with the Executive Creative Director and team, including creative briefings that provide clarity around deliverables and inspiration for innovation.
  • Champion the role of strategy and be the voice of strategy within the agency and with clients. 
  • Play a key role in client development with Business Leadership and Creative leads to shape our strategic vision for clients
  • Seek opportunities to expand client relationships, support the team to add value in new and more meaningful ways
  • Collaborate with Business Leadership to develop strategic plans for clients, help the agency earn trusted advisor with clients
  • Draw insights from program results to create dialogue with senior clients and internal team leading to informed strategic opportunities
  • Hire, lead, and mentor the strategy team. Inspire them to think strategically to creatively solve our client’s business challenges. Foster an environment of shared ideas, mentorship, and growth
  • Develop clear and concise insights to inform and inspire creative ideation process from kick off to creative brief and be the strategic voice for creative reviews
  • Champion and show how the work is effective and delivers measurable results 
  • Build a talent pipeline for the department and agency
  • Write and contribute to agency awards for effectiveness of our work
  • Actively seek and support new business efforts

What we are looking for
Expertise in leading a strategic team or department at an agency, preferred proven expertise in Experiential
Ability to inspire and forge trusted relationships with clients and the internal team 
Demonstrate how to combine detail-oriented thinking with an inspirational style of creative briefing and to work iteratively with creatives throughout the development process as the voice of effectiveness and consumer insight.

  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment
  • Experience with research, data and analytics tools
  • Ability to craft strategic narratives and storylines in decks and other client deliverables
  • Ability to make high-level strategies applicable and clear for clients and internal teams
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with other leadership departments in defining the agency North star, streamlining the processes and elevating the work
  • Previous experience working in experiential and non-traditional formats, and understands how to set up strategy for a variety of channels

What we require

  • 10+ years in an agency or marketing environment, advertising, social, digital with experiential agency experience highly preferred
  • Proven leadership, mentorship and management skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to effectively present ideas and work
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities at once
  • Ability to travel as needed for the role
  • Masters Degree preferred
  • Hybrid working environment with 2 days in the NY office

When it comes to deciding on compensation, there are several unique variables at play. As it stands, a fair estimate for the current salary range would be in the range of $150,000 to $195,000. Compensation decisions factors include but are not limited to experience, training, skill set, business needs, and travel requirements.
